Abstract: 

Model predictive controllers rely on dynamic model of the process, most often linear models obtained by system identification. The advantage of MPC is the fact that it allows the current timeslot to be optimized by keeping future timeslots in account. In this paper, the transient performance of MPC method against DTC with non linear Hysteresis based controllers is presented. Then a comparative performance in terms of torque and flux ripple are presented for PTC and DTC of three phase Induction motor drive. In predictive control the control objectives are defined as cost function, which is to be minimized to have a greater flexibility to include constraints which results in low computational complexity compared to DTC scheme. simulation results of PTC and DTC in MATLAB/ SIMULINK are shown and compared. This comparison between is carried out by validating the feasibility of PTC and highlighting some important implementation issues.

Abstract: 

In this paper, simultaneous estimation of the rotor speed and time constant estimation for a voltage source inverter–fed Induction motor drive is discussed. Application of the Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) on the vector controlling of an Induction motor drive in the rotor-flux-oriented reference frame is examined. Furthermore, to eliminate the offset error caused by the change in the stator resistance, a fuzzy resistance is also designed.

Abstract: 

In this article we investigate on robust mixed-sensitivity H ∞ control for speed and torque control of Inductional motor (IM). In order to simplify the design procedure the Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy approach is introduced to solve the nonlinear model Problem. Loop-shaping methodology and Mixed-sensitivity problem are developed to formulate frequency-domain specifications. Then a regional pole-placement output feedback H  ¥ controller is employed by using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) teqnique for each linear subsystem of IM T-S fuzzy model. Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) is used to design the controller for the overall system. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller even in the presence of motor parameter variations and unknown load disturbance.

Abstract: 

An Induction motor driving controller, with the aim of the reduction of energy consumption and minimum input power, has been developed. The shaft torque is calculated using the rotor flux and torque current component and then it is applied into the control system. For the purpose of energy saving, the magnetizing current is so determined that the required torque is produced at a maximum efficiency. A current regulator ensures the adaptability of the actual magnetizing current with its reference value; this results in the production of a stable torque at any desired load torque, even during the transient periods. According to simulation results, this controller can be suitable for drive systems of elevators and electric vehicles.

Vectorial control of the speed of an Induction motor is an advanced speed control method, enabling us to control torque, magnetic flux individually as that of DC motor. This paper pre3sents, the effecting factors dominating on the motor &the primarily vectorial control, leading to an advanced model of control in various &arbitrary co- ordinate systems. Finally a biased field control method with/&without speed sensors, introduced & simulated.
